1. How do I activate my Office Live Mail account?
You don’t have to activate an Office Live Mail account. When you sign up for an Office Live Small Business account, you use an existing e-mail address. Any e-mail that is sent from Office Live Small Business will be sent to this address. To read those e-mails, you need to go to the inbox associated with that account.
Once you are signed in to Office Live Small Business, you can create other e-mail accounts within Office Live — for more information, see Create or delete e-mail accounts. To access e-mail sent to any of these other addresses, you will need to sign into Office Live Small Business using that e-mail address and password.
Don’t forget that you may be able to automatically forward e-mail from one account to another. You’ll have to read the Help for the e-mail provider you are using to find out how.
2. Where’s my inbox?
Where your inbox is depends on which account you are trying to access. If your e-mail is being sent to a hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account, once you are signed in, your inbox should be on the Office Live Small Business home page (if it isn’t there, see Why can't I see my e-mail?). If you are using any other e-mail account, you’ll have to go to your e-mail provider’s inbox.
If you are using a hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account, and Office Live Small Business can’t access your inbox (which is usually a server issue), you can go there directly using Windows Live Mail.
To do that, do the following:
1. Type http://mail.live.com in your browser’s address bar and click Go.
2. On the sign in page, type your Office Live account e-mail address and password, and then click Sign in.
Your Office Live Mail home page opens.
For more information, see Access your e-mail and E-mail: frequently asked questions.
3. How come I can only send e-mails to 10 people at a time?
This is a temporary restriction that we have put on everyone’s account — to prevent the creation of accounts with the sole purpose of sending out spam. The longer you have your account with us, the more e-mails you’ll be able to send at one time, although the maximum number of recipients you’ll ever be able to send e-mails to is 250.
How long before the limit is raised?
When the restriction on is raised depends on various different factors including, among other things:
· how long you have had your Office Live account, and
· how many e-mails you are sending.
Since there are so many different variables, giving an exact time or date is impossible.
How can I send e-mails to more than 250 people at a time?
Check out Office Live Small Business’s E-mail Marketing feature. For a monthly fee, and depending on which plan you choose, you can send up to 2,500 or more e-mails every month. With E-mail Marketing, you can easily create newsletters, maintain contact lists, and track the success of your campaigns.
