Got a startup? Check out these helpful sites

New entrepreneurs need all the help you can get. Hopefully, that’s what we’re providing here — lots of insight and information to help you grow. But we've found a few other sites that might be worth a visit:

  • If you have a tech startup and need staff, the online job board Startuply could be just what you need. Startuply was launched on the premise that talented tech employees, especially recent grads, don’t often know about all the great jobs available at small startups.

Startup companies can put free job listings on Startuply and create detailed profiles to explain what your company does. Startuply also has a widget you can use to post jobs on your own Web site.

  • Social networking site YouNoodle, which targets startup companies, just launched a Startup Predictor test that claims to help you predict how successful your startup will be in three years. The test asks for information about your business concept, management team, financials, and advisers, then uses algorithms to crunch the numbers and give you a score.

Bloggers are abuzz about YouNoodle's Startup Predictor test, and it’s controversial. But it’s worth giving it a shot to see how your company comes out. The consensus from bloggers at TechCrunch and VentureBeat: The assessment’s strongest point is how it evaluates the strength of the startup’s management team.

My take? When you’re starting out, it doesn’t hurt to get feedback from as many sources as you can — especially if you’re seeking financing of any sort. While you’ll certainly want to take it with a grain of salt, running your idea through the Startup Predictor can help give you a clearer picture of your company’s strengths and weaknesses.

  • Another good site to check out is StartupNation. While not a new site, StartupNation is filled with lots of good information for new and home-based entrepreneurs. My favorite part of the site: the Step-by-Step Advice channel — lots of great advice there.
