Organize images; password protection; draft pages

Suggestion posted by glider2

For my website, password protection is almost an essential thing.  On previous providers that I have used, they have had an option to password protect certain pages on your website, and so, my business has a small assignment library that is updated every day for the school I work at, some students collect assignments in all of the classes that day, scan them in, and put the assignments on the password protected pages for other students to download at home if they have lost them or are sick.  For this purpose, we need password protection because some of the assignments are copyrighted, so only students at our school should be able to gain access to them.  Another suggestion that I have is that the file gallery include an option to make folders, so that files and images can be organized into folders.  These two things are really the only problem that I have, and the only reason that I haven't switched over to office live.  Does anyone have similar wishes or features on office live?

Another thing that would be useful to alot of people is being able to have drafts of pages, without publishing the page changes immediately when you save.  So you can save the page as a draft, and not publish it to the web,  then come back later and change it more, or publish it. I think that making it so that users can also edit the contact us form would be a useful resource.  Overall Offive Live is perfect for a business, but just has a couple things that would help it grow.

I would love password protection for individuals pages or sections.  Most businesses have materials they only want their customers to access and not just random passersby (or competitors!)

I too have a big need for password protected documents/webpages.  I think this might already be workable somehow with a proper external link.  I need a password to login to OL and access my documents.  Also there are at least two places to store documents here that I have found.  I'm not sure of the differences in locations yet nor even how to find them very easily, but I think I remember some kind of sharring level system at one of them.  I'd like to have my installation manuals available to me and my workers, but not the end user, on my website.  Ideally, certain OTHER docs would be available to my customers with passwords, but not common surfers.

I am confused by the instructions on how to do this.  Under "Create a Login Page",  Point B. says, "Upload Login_Page.htm to your site." But anything that I upload to my OfficeLive web site is automatically converted into a .aspx file.

I agree about folders for images.  Because I have a large number of images, it takes forever to insert one on a page or in an email as the image gallery has to load each and every one before you can selct one.  THis is a major hindrance to me.
