Gypssy, I absolutely LOVE the graphics you have. Did you have that specifically designed for you? There are so many sites out on the web that you can buy pre-made graphics but then you have to worry about seeing it on 50 sites but your's is really beautiful and don't think I have seen it anywhere else and I've done a ton of surfing as I have been working on my site the last 3 months!

Hi SQ :)

Thank you for the compliment. So glad to hear that you like the graphics, since originally I was searching for "gypsy" pics or tamborines with ribbons. As you said, its really hard to find pretty graphics out there that you're not going to see around every corner. Mine weren't designed for me. I found a really unique website where a woman had gathered many different collections of graphics. She was very picky about who used them and how they were used as far as selling things, so I actually had to get a code from her to get in and out of her website to even look at pictures...and then I had to get her permission to copy any graphics and use them. I guess some of her things had popped up in places she felt were inappropriate. Unfortunately, her website has been suspended and no longer exists as far as I can tell. The site was www.deekitty.com . Its not there anymore, but keep the name and check back now and then. You never know, she might resurface. Be ready to be grilled and put through your paces if she comes back though..lol. Shes pretty tough!!  Nice to find a fellow-beader here in the forums :). I wish you well with your website...

I just started last week and had zero knowledge on web design/ creation.  Thanks to Office Live, I now have some working knowledge in this field.  Bare with me as this site is still very amateurish but rest assured I will continue to improve on it day by day.  Constructive criticisms are most welcome !!  so here it is.... www.lamondogelato.com

I think you're off to a good start. Your color combination seems alittle bit bright, but I realize you're probably trying to keep it close to your store logo colors. There might be another combination that tones it down a bit. Your display case looks amazing!!!  When are you opening a shop on the east coast??  :). Good luck with your website...you're doing great :).

Not really a design suggestion, but I wouldn't put that your birds are vaccinated and for which diseases right up on top of the home page.  My thoughts immediately went to - egads, they might be diseased?  I know that is very important information and it should be somewhere easy to find, just not one of the first things you read.  Wording it differently might help, something like you can be assured all our birds are healthy because we do x,y and z.

I would also suggest that you have High Flying Loft on one line in the header, and something like - Dove releases for special events in NH (since you do more that just weddings) or whatever you like, in smaller text below it.  I think it would look better, clearer and easier to read.  You can do that under the Header tab, High Flying Loft in Site Title box and the rest in the Site Slogan box.

Wish I had an event that called for a dove release, sounds lovely!!

Your vision is always impressive. you've been very easy to work with and we really appreciate you. Store Manager or Admanager just curious

Hello,

I just need some help here, I got the Office Live basic and I know its free and you can build your own site the way you want it. They have the Store Manager and I am planning to sign up, is the Store Manager that they are offering is same like amazon , ebay or other companies that is consider aas e-commerce. And this company usually charge you monthly and then a commission of every items that you sells. I need to pay the admanager so people can search my website to any search engines like yahoo, google, I undestand that we have to pay for it so our site can be seen Worldwide and can expand our business. I just want to know if there is anyone here have done it already the pay per click or the admanager? how does it work thru Microsoft, I done a lot of studies to other sites as well and I have a store also to other e-commerce company but I decided to scatter my store to other sites as well.

Thank you

Charity

Hello charity:

I have 2 Microsoft Office Live Small Business (free) websites and I use 100% organic search engine ranking (free) go to your favorite search engine anywhere in the world and type in the search terms "Silver Moon Furniture" or "New Mountain Tavern" and you will discover that you do not need to use AdManager or a "Pay-Per-Click" service for your office live basic to be searchable worldwide. The most important thing is to have good relivent text content on your website that matches your keywords and description meta tags this is far more important that using a paid site submit/traffic service. You need to be careful with extra paid e-commerce solutions that you can justify the increase in sales (not just hits from non buyers) will at least cover the additional costs (I am still waiting for some posts here in the community from people that have used one of the e-commerce solutions here and showed a increase in sales that covered the additional costs)
