Stat Counter

Hey everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible to add stat counter to my OL website.  I had used stat counter before on another non OL website and liked it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks,

Re: Stat Counter

I use a product called CQ Counter (cqcounter.com) on my office live site, best thing to do is make a test page and try adding the stat counter code to a html module

Re: Stat Counter

Sure you can. You just need to copy and paste the Statcounter project code into an HTML module and put a copy of this on each page. I find Statcounter useful when there's alot of dev work going on and you want to block out your own IP from the site stats. The Office Live reports feature is now a whole lot better with the new version so I'd take a look at that as well. The summary stats on your OL home page are good for keeping track of overall performance and I find the entry / exit page info useful.

Re: Stat Counter

Thanks  for the info.  I tried to install the stat counter code using the html module.   It seems to lock up the website.  I tried viewing it in slim browser(locked up), Firefox (worked just fine).  Wonder why it happened? I forgot to tell you that I do have a basic site, not sure if that matters.

Thanks,

Re: Stat Counter

It probably uses external JS, in which case if you want to use that counter use the solution for Google Gadgets http://solutionsforofficelive.com/googlegadgets.aspx

Re: Stat Counter

I used stat counter because I liked some of the things it does.  If there is another one out there that is a little easier to work with, I would love to hear about it. I liked stat counter because I could choose to not show the stat counter logo. I also like the fact that it give a little more details about the visitors etc.  Working with the OL websites is a learning process for me. I really appreciate the help. :+)

Re: Stat Counter

Use HTML code from statcounter or if you want to use javascript then use iframe (this will not track all the details).

normally I use sitemeter, its simple and good ;-)

Re: Stat Counter

How did you manage to insert the code, as it tells us to insert it in the 'body' tag and with OL using templates I can not get to that part?

Any help appreciated

Hello Carols:

Can you paste the code here on the community message board so we might be able to see where the problem is at.

Re: Stat Counter

How did you get the "entry/exit" feature to work under the stat counter?

I tried all the possible codes. Did you do any tweaking?
