Re: Visio
Skimming over your post reminds me of a featured I was sad to have missed in the latest version of office live. I would have liked to see "the premium office applications" such as Visio 07’ and Project 07’ show up as (at the least) un-editable images in the browser of the office live workspace. The most straight forward way to see these files is to download them onto a computer that has Visio and/or Project installed. With the price of these software licenses creating an unfeasibility of equipping every machine with these powerful applications, it would be nice if one could view these files from the server / browser without having to download and load them into the local machine. This would also save people from needing to download additional Visio or Project Viewer, which many times add to more calls for  IT help. The following link properly documents office live as missing the feature described above.http://office.microsoft.com/client/helppreview.aspx?AssetID=HA102255841033&ns=OFLV20&lcid=1033&QueryID=VmTDx9khk&respos=1(Notice that Visio and Project are not includedL.  )Don’t forget, Visio or Project can be converted to a .pdf and viewed in office live but this comes at a cost. Manuel version control in a fast moving project can lead to a chaotic mess if a certain meticulous organizational reasoning is not used constantly. In my perfect world, I would be able to save a Visio file directly from the ribbon add-on (via: save to office live ).Then I could just invite people to see my work on the server and collaborate seamlessly. I have noticed, and find It is interesting that the premium programs such as 2007 Visio and 2007 Project are still using the old File menus and have not yet adopted the new ribbon features that are available on the other office 2007 programs such as Word. There are probably issues being worked out beyond my consideration. Moving to XML is a big milestone (and temporary growing pain) for us all. Please fill us in if you have any knowledge about Visio and Project. Will they be more tightly integrated into office live? Should we just face the reality that a seperate Project / Visio servers will need to be used to facilitate this kind of collaboration?
