Slideshow - make autostart & autowrap optional and placing of controls settable

I use slideshows extensively on my travel book site (sidwellmartin) and my wife's painting site (felicitysidwell).  More than half the visitors don't like the slideshows to start automatically or repeat, and they don't realize there are controls because they're off the page below the pictures.

I'd like to be able to set start and repeat individually to auto or manual and place the controls above or below the slideshow.

Hi MartinS,

Nice photos you've got there!  I can help you with half of the solution - by placing the controls above the slideshow (albeit, a bit of a hack).  Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to custom stylesheet
  2. Add the following:

#ctl00_IWS_WH_CPH_Content_SlideshowControl1_Controls { width: 100%;position:absolute;top:280px;margin-left:50px; }

Note that ths style is set particularly for the slideshow for Fall 2006 Trek.  If your header changes or you add more text to the beginning of the page, then you will need to adjust the part wher it says "top" in the style above.  It's best to keep all your slideshow pages consistent as this style will be applied for the whole site (i.e. all pages with a slide show will have the controls at position 280px from the top of your page.  Alas, this is definitely better than having the controls at the bottom of the page though.

Hope this helps!
