Welcome to the Women Entrepreneurs Discussion Space!

This is, we hope, the first of many discussion spaces meant to facilitate conversation and exchange among likeminded people; beyond all the great things you can achieve with Microsoft Office Live Small Business.

We hope you will take advantage of and find this space valuable to connect with each other (obviously all code of conduct rules continue to apply).

Let us know if there are others that need to be created for other likeminded exchanges

OK Filiberto... this is scaring me... you don't look like a woman.

Any how - i'm having so many challenges trying to get the email newsletter feature to work (actually it never loads).  Can microsoft give me a brand new laptop so I can be a better beta girl.

Oh I'm so looking forward to meeting other women from all locations, but particularly in the NY area.  So if we're suppose to meet up somewhere count me in.

:) no need to be scared; I am definitely not one. However my wife is an entrepreneur (recently took the plunge); and I have the highest respect (and empathy) for the challenges.

As for the email newsletter question; could I bother you posting that here? http://myofficelivecommunity.com/discuss/forums/43.aspx

There is this event: Vision to Venture. But not happening in NYY; though it will offer soem online on demand version in May.

Re: Welcome to the Women Entrepreneurs Discussion Space!

with my other try on the newsletter thing I did it back words the first seven times.  I figure make the newsletter, test it out then send it to everyone but it works the other way around.  Create your list (address list) then click on that, then create your email newsletter, then send it...works great.  Everyone on on the test list got theirs and the links all worked I put on it.

I didn't like the fact that it was so skinny because I chose the one where I could put the support groups on one side but for nothing, It works fine.  LJ

Msmoneypenny

I see that your doing a lot of blogging, but have you gotten your site up in the search engine rankings.  what kind of traffic are you gettting now and how many are converting to paying clients?  What would you like to see happen and how many can you currently handle?  These are questions we allways ask as some people are not ready to get the kind of traffic that is out there searching for them.
What are your thoughts on how many people should be coming to your site and then of that number how many of those are actually buying your product or service?  This helps us to determie which part of your site is not currently working for you.

If your numbers are low in traffic then we can get your site up on google.  If your trffiic numbers are high, then maybe we need to take a look at what your site is saying to your viewers.

Most people believe that if they build it they will come.  Not a true fact on the web or in business.   With all of your maketing, there has to be three things to make it a complete success.

1) Production or design must work well and at an affordable cost.  For this instance we are talkign about your FREE web site from Microsoft Office.

2) Your Marketing must be put under lots of researched potential clients.  (meaning for this instance) your site must be placed where your traffic WANTS to find it.  And then the research also tells us where to place it for Maximum traffic.

3) Your marketing message MUST compell them to not only want your product,  but also show them why they NEED to give you money for it.  and there are ways to write your web site content so that your client understands you, what you offer and most importantly why they need it.

Providing all three of these is where we come in.  We analyze your current site to see what is missing and what we can do to help fix it.  Gaining you a complete winning package that sells you.

Would you like some help with this?  let us know we would be happy to do what we can to get your site selling for you.

Your success on the net is our mission and we would be glad to help.

Sincerely
Cheri

Re: Welcome to the Women Entrepreneurs Discussion Space!

I am starting a Virtual Business specializing in start-up firms in architectural and construction.  Other individual entrepreneurs are welcome. I would be their Virtual Assistant.  I am wondering if this would take off after I complete my web site on MS Officelive?  What do I need to do to promote it to the architectural arena beside search engines since it is so specialized?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  OR maybe this is not a good idea.
