Where do you go to find answers to your questions?
OK; half trying to jump start the conversation here. But also half asking on behalf of my wife (whom has recently and bravely joined the ranks of entrepreneurs). What sites do you visit to find information on resources, programs available to you as Women Entrepreneurs? I did a quick search and I found a few; however I have no idea if they are great or a scam.

Have you used any of these?  Do you have positive/negative comments to share? Maybe name others that are not listed here?  Filiberto

Re: Where do you go to find answers to your questions?

Truthfully, I have never gone to any of them...I totally work out of my home, unless I am in the field for a shoot, don't do studio work( due to some illness I have I find it's better for me to just do what I can when I can without appointments so that means no portraiture etc) so I don't really have a big need for expensive equipment. ( well except lenses, computer, software, camera, and maybe a trip to some exotic locale to shoot..,maybe I should look into some grants;))

I do visit tons of photo sites though but that doesn't really help much for anyone else.

I also know women are considered a minority in business and can often get bids on jobs easier due to that if your area is such that you do bids ie construction type , not sure how else it would apply so the sba site might have info. about that.

And  there is a group called "SCORE" that has business men and women who give pointers to those starting out...we have used it face to face  but the website is http://www.score.org/index.html

Re: Where do you go to find answers to your questions?

sba.gov is great!  They'll be even better when they give me some money!  Now here's a question...

Hello,

I've been working on my site for the past 1.5 months, and have posted ads for my business on craigslist.org -- this is great free advertising!  A link in my ad takes visitors directly to my 'Talk to Us' page, where they can call, email or sign up for my newsletter.  MYw problem is that the newsletter sign-up is not working!   I created it with the design tool, using the modules.  When you right-click, and then click on properties it allows you to input the e-mail address(es) you want the e-mail (alert) to go to.  I have tested it, and it's NOT WORKING!

I've deleted the module and inserted a new one, and nothing is working.   No e-mail messages/alerts are going to the designated emails.

I don't know how many e-mails I've missed out on now- but am so disgruntled! HELP!!!

HCP: I noticed you posted the question in another forum as well; so lets follow up on this thread about the resources and in the other one about your question.

Thanks for your comment on sba.gov

Filberto, I have heard of the 3rd one. SBA is good for free information.  But the first site I'd go to is your states business site.   What specifically is she looking for?

I have a resource site she can use.  It's at www.TheResourceQueen.com   all resources have been tried on by me or my clients.  That may assist her, too.

LMK how I can help.
