Office Live email situation

I ran into a problem with OL email and I need some help. I sent a bunch of emails to some of my clients to announce an event. These are not random people; they gave me their email address for this purpose. I received a message that I could only send ten messages at one time. I broke the list down and sent about three different emails (30 people). A couple of days later something changed and I had to send a message to some of the same clients and a few that were left off the original list. I then got the message that I was in violation of OL terms and conditions and I cannot send anymore emails from my computer using my OL email account. I sent a message to customer support and was transferred at least 4 times. When I say transferred, I mean I kept getting responses saying that they understood my problem but another group was better equipped to help me. I then had to send a new trouble ticket. Every time I did that, I included the service tickets from before. It has been more than a week and I have not sent any new service tickets and the problem has not been resolved. Has anyone had a problem like this before? I know I can call them on the phone but I have been busy so I have just been using the online customer service.

 Is this common with OL?

If you could post your support ticket number here it would make it allot easier for the people from microsoft that are on this forum to look into that issue for you.

Thanks Gary for bringing this one to my attention

The mail system does have safeguards incorporated that are meant to deter spammers form simply getting an account, using it to spam and then disappearing in the dark. That said it is likely they are not perfect and were confused in your case.

I am not sure what is the process to re-set you; but as Gary says having the Service Request Numbers would help me inquiry into it; what likely happen with the transfers is that you were sent to hotmail support.

So, when I eventually build up my "mailing list" subscribers, and I try to send them all an e-mail newsletter at one time.... I'm gonna get shut down?

 

Is this still a problem?  I don't want to test it out and go through the same troubles...

I saw a petty good solution for this in another thread a couple of months ago.  Basically, the suggestion was to use Word and the built-in mail-merge function for mass emails and newsletters.  There are no limitations there.

 

I would suggest, as a potential customer, the polite and thoughtful inclusion of a link to have one's email address removed from the distribution list.

I just use a rss feed to run the mailing list (Feedburner) and do not have a problem with e-mail being considered spam  plus there is a automatic unsubscribe button.
