Changing Logo size for Insertion into Zones

Question...is it even possible.  I'm trying to change the image I've selected (a peice of my artwork) to the "medium" size so I can inser it into the zones.  Is this even possible?  I see that you can change the size to put it in the HEADER, but I don't want to put the logo in the Header..........only in the zones.

Hi Elaine, Welcome.

The best way to accomplish this is to use a image editing program like PhotoShop to scale down the size of your image to a reasonable size.

If you don't have PhotoShop or some other Adobe Image editing product like Fireworks, I suggest you try GIMP for FREE.

The easiest way is to use whatever photo editing program you have that will let you change pictures to different sizes.  Save different versions of the same image, a large, medium ect and upload them to the image gallery.

You can also click on and drag an image smaller in the OL editor.  It's tricky to get right as it tends to bring in both sides and the bottom.  Hard to get the proportions just right since you have to judge it by eye, although you can just delete the image from your page and put it back again and try again.  For something like artwork that would be important that it is just right, I would go with resizing using a photo editing program.

Thanks Norris....I downloaded GIMP and tried to adjust my artwork to fit.  Even though GIMP is a great little program, I don't think its' going to work.  It tells me it can't save.......something about it needs to be exported first.  When I tried to put the image into zone one of my page, it simply inserted the UNsized one.  That's okay.  Maybe I can download a better, more suitable image later.  I simply wanted to put something in there.

Would you help me with a few other things?  I have just about everything on my front page that I want there. (Or I have the skills to put there, is more like it!)  I will want to put a "page 2" on the site displaying my products.  How do I go about that?  And when I insert pictures of the products, how do I go about that?

Thank you for all your help.....!

Thanks, Sue!  Norris suggested GIMP, and you can read what happened there.  I'm so new to setting this whole thing up, that I don't even have a clue on how to get to apage where I can display my products!  Would you happen to know how to save the page, and when ready, submit it to the web?

Hi Elaine,

I am not even close to being in the same OL technical league as Sue is, but I can help you with this one. All your pages are actually live, however, you control who see's what by adding them to your navigation. If you don't want someone to see a page, when you create it, go into page properties and you'll want to leave the box next to "Show this page in navigation" unchecked. The only way someone can get to those pages is if you either put them in your navigation or you link to that page from somewhere else in your site. The thing that's really a bummer is when you have to work on your home page, and I have been there plenty of times, I think since December my site has had about 8 themes, but anyway, there is no way to deactivate your home page. Some good advice I have seen here is to put either an image or some sort of message on your home page and links or navigation to get your traffic to other areas of your site, while you create your new home page on another webpage. Once your new home page is complete do a complete cut and paste (control + c then control + v) when it's ready to go live.

Best of luck to you, I had absolutely 0 experience doing anything like this before and the fine folks here have been a huge help.

Hi Elaine,

If all you need to do is to resize photos, GIMP is a bit too complex for that.  A better program to use (it's free) is PIXresizer (I'm assuming you are using Windows and not a Mac.  It has a very simple interface and the best feature is that it allows you to resize multiple photos in one go (super convenient if you have a good number of photos to resize) - something that GIMP can't do unless you know how to write scripts.

Hope this helps!
