Hello parrish:

I have not tried amazon ads yet but what is the code that they gave you so I can tell you which way to proceed.

Re: amazon

Hi Parrish,

Yes, I've used Amazon ads. Most of the code Amazon gives you is iframe code. However, some of their newer Ad widgets (not iframes) may not work in the HTML module. In some cases, you will have to insert the widget code inside a HTML page and upload it to your Documents folder. Then, use the iframe code pointing to the HTML file in your documents folder to get the widgets to work.

Hope this helps!

Re: amazon

hi parrish,

i have used amazon quite a bit and have set up astores as well as used specific ads on related pages.  It works fine although loading the astore can be a little slow and some of the new widgets do not work if you just paste them in.  I think it's something to do with the fact that they are javascript and try to remoteley access amazon which OL doesn't like - limit of my techy expertise.  I think you'll find code to overcome this - I think Solutions For Office live have something.

Good luck.

Re: amazon

Parrish,

I assume you mean where do you go to signup to be a Amazon Associate.  Once you're an associate, you log-in to the Amazon Associate sites, click the Build Links/Widgets menu and select the type of link you want to place on your site.

The link to signup and access your Amazon Associates account is http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join

Or you can simply add your tracking ID to the end of any amazon URL and you'll get a referral fee for each sale.

Re: amazon

have become an associate of the Amazon program. This program will pay you 4% for any purchases made through your website, but nothing for just clicking on the link. I have been able to download their simple widgets by taking their iframe code and converting it to html. However, I have been unable to place their more advanced widgets (where you can create your own favorites/recommended book list) on my website. They only provide the html code which for some reason does not work through the MOL.

Does anyone have an experience with getting these custom widgets up and running successfully?

Workaround for google adsense: http://solutionsforofficelive.com/googleadsense.aspx.  Just use Amazon's code, you might or might not need the head and body tags.

Re: amazon

I have had great success loading the widgets useing Iframe but cannot for the live of me get the astore up and running.  I can get the first part of up there but when I have to load the second part it won't insert into the store part.  Does that make sense?  When I load the second part it over rides the first part.  Any ideas guys?

Re: amazon

Just copy the Amazon code into an html module, located on the page where you want the astore to appear. You may have to go back and customize the css for the astore to get a perfect fit/look but that's pretty easy too. Post your url and someone will look at your source code.
