Putting Ads on your Website?

What criteria do you use to determine if you should put ads on your website? Is if profitable or does it help with SEO?

Re: Putting Ads on your Website?

Hello Teresa:

I have found that having ads, enhance the content of webpages, increases the appraisal value of your domain, and generates a source of revenue. By the way Teresa, not to get off the subject, but have you ever though of listing time shares/campground memberships?

Just as warning though, competitor ads can show up as well, so you might want to watch it.

Thanks for the info. No I have not thought about timeshares and campgrounds. That might be an untapped market.

Re: Putting Ads on your Website?

Hello Teresa:

You get to select which ads will be displayed on your website. You can restrict ads from certain websites (people you compete with) from appearing on your website.

Hello Isaac D:

Adsense for Referral lets you pick the ads you want to run directly. For Adsense for content you have the option to block any ads you want. under adsense setup/competitive ad filter

Re: Putting Ads on your Website?

2/3 of all my ad revenue comes from Google Adsense for Search and the remaining 1/3 comes from Google Adsense for
Content. So whatever revenue you are generating by using adsense for content you can triple your monthly revenue by adding adsense for search.

Re: Putting Ads on your Website?

Teresa McDonal: if you want to generate money from your site then place ads, also placing ads will not help for SEO. If you are serious about your business then better dont place any ads because if your competitor ad is displayed then you may loose business.
