I have created a hyperlink to one of my documents.  The documents happends to be a registration form.  In the past my contestants would email me directly for registration, therefore I had a relatively good idea of how many contestants that I would have.  Now that my contestants can click on my hyperlink and print out registration I don't know how to find out how many have done this.  Is there any way to find it in a report or any other way how many times the hyperlink has been clicked or viewed?  Please help!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, you can't get stats on the number of views on documents unless were able to embed the tracking code. To get the tracking code, log into OLSB. Go to Reports > Administration > Get Code. Keep in mind the tracking code will only work on web documents such as html, htm, aspx so if you're using a .doc file this will not work.

As an alternative to a document serving as a registration form, I suggest creating a web form in Office Live. This way users can fill out the information online. The registration will be inserted into a Office Live Business Application and if you like a workflow can be setup that will email the registrants their information in which they can print or save if they like.  Also, because the registration form will be on a web page web stats will be available to let you know how many views you have.

Just setup a contact us module on a seperate page just for this purpose, with add to contact manager checked and have the mail sent to a e-mail account you have the "on vacation" option set with the reply of the url for the document and set a conversion point to http://yourdomain.com/pagename.aspx#thankyou this would also guarantee that a valid e-mail address is used for the people to receive the document. This setup will work all by itself without you needing to do a thing, it count the number of request by using the conversion point you setup plus keep a list of all the contact information in the contact manager I have a example of this at http://silvermoonfurniture.com/test2.aspx and conversion point set to http://silvermoonfurniture.com/test2.aspx#thankyou
