Hi Peter,

I took a quick look at your website, but your homepage only has a list of documents. You need to fill your pages with some content, possibly about critical care if thats what your site is about...I really couldn't tell. Your pages are blank. After you make your pages, you need to go to the Page Manager and click on Properties for each page. Give your page a descriptive name because thats what will probably be seen when you're listed in search engines. And each page needs keywords and a brief description ( also under Properties ). It's good to have some of the same important words in the title, the page content and the description. It takes a while for the search emgines to crawl your pages. It doesn't happen as soon as you begin to build your website. It could be weeks....so you have time to work on your pages and get your site optimized before they take a look. Heres Microsoft's page on search engines and how to submit your site to them. http://www.office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/FX102018061033.aspx .You can use it when you're ready, but first I would work on getting some content on my pages. Best wishes with your website :)...

Re: my website does not show up in a search

Thank you gypssy, I will do that.

If I understand you correctly, the search engines will search for the keywords in the pages as well as the website name.

Since you appear to be knowledgable, could I ask you how to make the content of the documents on the website protected so it cannot be copied off?  right now the documents are simply password protected, but that seems clunky.  I would like anyone to be able to view them, just not copy and save the content.  ie they should not be able to redistribute it.

Thank you so much.  cticu.com.    yes, it is about critical care.  I am attempting to make a very practical, tutorial website.

Hello Peter:

The first thing you should do is to optimize your webpages ( make them search engine friendly) and to use a free website submission service like http://freewebsubmission.com/ to start the procedure of getting your website indexed and ranked on the search engines. so many times I have seen people getting caught up in giving their websites all the "bells and whistles" (which doesn't matter if people can not find your site) before even considering to optimize their sites.

Hello Again Peter:

one thing I did discover is that if you want cticu.com to show up in the search engines make it your primary domain name in domain manager, currently you have http://criticalcareexpert.health.officelive.com/default.aspx as your primary domain. You can access the domain manager by going to account settings/domain manager
