"Print View" does not print exactly the view customizations. Why?

Hello people!

I am trying to print a custom view in which i set a particular view, ordering Task Projects filtering by Projects and grouping by End Date. Well, the list is perfect. I am using everyday to manage my jobs. But, when i click in the "Print View" link, it doesnt print my custom visualization. It prints a default Taks list, without my filters and grouping. No matter what i do, this options only print a default full task list.

Someone could help me to understand this issue? I had been looking for in this forum, but i got no sucess.

 Thanks in advance.

 Alex

That's very strange and that shouldn't happen. One thing you should check when you print is to see what the viewID is for the printout page. You can see that from the URL string. If you print both the standard default one and your filtered list, the two viewID should be different. If they are the same, then something is wrong since all you will be getting is the default printout for the filtered list (as what you are experiencing now).

A possible workaround if this continues is to set this filtered view as the default and try printing that way.

Hi, Royster. thanks for your attention. Well, that's really very strange. I am in a mobile device and will try your ideias as soon as possible. But, if the viewID are been sending wrong to print application, that's a bug in Office Live, because - i think - Print View button should catch the current view and send it to the print. First of all, I must say that my custom project view is my default view for Tasks. So, this is not a solution at this time. I will try another solutions, such as yours. Thanks in advance, my friend. I will report any changes in this post. Alex.

Re: "Print View" does not print exactly the view customizations. Why?

Well, i made some tests today.

No matter what type of visualization i can create, OL do not respect my filters. I created a custom view, in this structure:

ID       PROJECT TASK       PROJECT STATUS       PRIORITY       DUE DATE       RESOURCES

+ Project : Name of Project

 + Due Date: mm/dd/yyyy

   10       Homepage               In progress                (3) High           mm/dd/yyyy     <name of ppl envolved>

But, when i send to print, OL always create a single list with my custom colums, but the list created do not represent my filters (Tasks by Projects, grouped by Due Date). It is a continous list without filter by Projects neither group by due date. Only a mixed list. :-(

Does someone has any ideia?

Thanks a lot. Alex
