I have designed a website and I am looking for ways to get traffic to it I tried searching for help on google to find out what the best ways our but there was just to much there so I thought someone here would be able to give me more information I am just starting out have not got all of the stuff added to my website that I plan to but it is comming along pretty well you can check it out and give me your opinion www.workfromhomescamfree.com I am looking for all the help I can get and any information you have to share is greatly appreciated Thanks so much 

Put a banner ad to your website in the signiture area of your profile (you can use html code in your signiture) this will increase traffic to your website. To increase revenus place one of your other banner ad referrals in your signiture. It also helps to optimize your website to be search engine friendly, myself I have not really thought much about using pay-per-click to increase traffic.

To add to what Gary has mentioned, you can write articles about your topic and submit them to article directories. You can create a blog at one or more popular blog sites such as blogger.com or wordpress.com and blog about topics relating to your site and then place links as appropriate back to your site. You can also create lenses on Squidoo or hubs at HubPages.com relating to your topic and add links to your site from those places as well.

On top of this forum, you can find forums relating to topics that you cover on your site and place signatures there as well. If you come across a blog post from other sites that are related to what your site is about, you can comment on the post and usually have the ability to post a link back to your site as well.

Look at other sites similar to yours and ask for links from those sites to yours. This will help as well.

OK signature area of my profile? Like my website profile..and it has a signature line? I'll go check it out.  I'm at tanabrown4424@msn.com. I hear about this all the time but I've never actually found my signature line. I know what that is in Outlook .... and I don't think you are referring to that?

All of these comments are great and will help you. I have used almost all of them. One way that really seem to make a differance and has no cost!!!Try to become socially active, I mean try signing up with social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn. This will allow you to find contacts with similar backgounds and you can ask them to link up with you. This will allow your site to have access to all kinds of professionals and if nothen else it certainly creates alot of traffic through your site.

Scybyte is talking about the signature in this forum. It creates backlinks to your site everytime your post. Go to your profile-click your name about the "Sign Out" button- and scroll down to Signature. Copy and Paste this:

<a href="URL">what you want the link to say</a>

Modify as necessary. There, you now have a backlink.
