Anyone using Popfly?

In my continuing quest to make sense of MS Silverlight I stumbled onto MS Popfly (www.popfly.com) and have had a ton of fun playing with it.  I wanted to know if anyone else has used it with their OfficeLive site.  If you want to see what it can do in the most simple sense you can check my page at http://mrroughton.com/units.aspx to see the Image Carousel at the top.  If you then click on the Roman Empire page and scroll all the way down you can see a Game unit.

I had no trouble at all getting the stuff working with OfficeLive.  The only trick was making a page with my images and nothing else (just have to click off the header, footer and "show officelive icon" buttons in the various menus) to feed the Carousel.

Oh, and the other problem that apparently it doesn't currently work right with Firefox...

Wait, seriously Microsoft?  Are you kidding me?!

I hope they are kidding.  If you are using Firefox it would help me if you checked the page and let me know what happens.  On my system the modules will not load.  Otherwise, this is a great tool and hopefully it is something MS can fix as it really adds to the flash (no pun intended) of a site.

It worked in Mozilla Firefox for me.  It was going a little fast though.  Popfly actually use MS Silverlight.

From the Masters Forum, here is a site that has done some work with Popfly:  http://artotems.com/artotemspopfly.aspx.

I'm using Firefox 3 with NoScript (which I disabled to attempt to run the programs).  I checked the forums for Popfly and the mods there say there are some issues with Silverlight and FF3.  It really is a nice, easy platform so I hope they get it fixed.

Hi Rockguykev,

Great website! Just enough, and not too overwhelming. I think the carousel is a nice effect. I was a preschool teacher for a long time ( 3 and 4 year olds ). I thought they were more fun than 7th graders, but I may have been wrong. You have your hands full, lol. I love your class projects. Reminds me of the 3 times I went through the 7th grade....Ahem, I mean...reminds me of when my kids were in the 7th grade :). And I did the Roman Empire Review....but lets not go there. Another favorite page...Roughton Record. I wonder if I should have changed this font to purple? lol. ( Gypssy note: Olivia's my favorite kid!! ). Just wanted to let you know your pages really brought a smile to my face today. Wish you were my teacher :). Wishing you all the best with your website...

Re: Anyone using Popfly?

Thanks for the kind words!

I checked Artotems page with Firefox 3 and had the same issues I had on my own page.  In a way, that's good because I know it isn't something I messed up. In another way, that saddens me because it confirms the problem.

Still, the more I work with Popfly the more I love it. I'm really interested to see where MS takes it. As soon as I can use my own graphics for Game Actors I'll be completely in love.

Well, that, and when it works with Firefox...

Re: Anyone using Popfly?

I thought I'd have a pop at a Carousel with Popfly, but when I get to acquiring the HTML for my page, I don't get the Share option in the same place as displayed by the instructions, and it all grinds to a halt. Can you help, please?
