We were playing with Office Live Site Designer last week and removing its built-in components and adding a bit of CSS.
The site is comprised of tables, graphics, flash components, and text. The menu is made in Flash as well. This then allows for a site that doesnt look like the traditional OL site but still connects to all the backend functionality. It's a work in progress. Almost anything is possible.
