provide a Help feature, also a remove/delete post...

for some one new to this particular bulletin board engine, having a help feature would be nice - maybe one exists and i simply can't find it.  then i gather i need some help to find the help.  :-)

also, an unpost, or delete post to be available to the posting author.  circumstances exist when an author may generate a posting but then realize that either the context driving the post has changed, or simply that after a bit more thought - it was a dumb post and he/she would like to get it off the board before everyone realizes what a dumb post he/she made.  hey, it happens.... in fact i just did it... twice this evening!!!

 well anyway, just some suggestions.

The ability to delete a post here disappears rather quickly.  You can go back and edit and/or update a post later.  I suppose you could just go back and erase everything.  Keep in mind, however, that forums like this are mechanisms for creating knowledge and sharing information.  Every post is useful.  Even if you discover that you posted something in error, others will be informed by it.  These threads can be searched and people with the same question will find the answer, and there will be others with the same question.

What PEoD should do is go back and update his posts, or add new ones that elaborate on what he has discovered.  No one will hold it against him for asking the question and everyone will benefit from what he has learned.

I have been to forums where a handful of self-appointed despots rule the roost, and no one dares step out of line.  They're not much fun, and not very informative.  That's not the case here.

If you need to delete a post, you simply just need to login with the ID you created the post with, and then there will be an option to delete the post on the left side, also the edit option is there as well.

SA, for my posts, for some reason, the "Delete" option disappears within a few minutes of posting.  Only the "Edit" option remains after that.  Is that not the case for everyone?

Update:  I'm back here at 9:31pm (original post 9:22pm) and the "Delete" link is now gone.  Only "Edit" is available to me.
