Product support from Microsoft...

From what I am reading and just finding out there is no support avenue for users of the free Office Live web site service... is this correct?

If so, this needs to change because when technical issues arise, even if it is a free service, we need to be able to notify someone!

I can understand limiting support to those paying but to have NO support when there is a technical problem accessing our accounts, our websites, domains etc., is not good business.  Now if there is a technical support area for free accounts, then please can someone tell me where to access it?

I have been using the free service for some months now, thinking about an upgrade.  However this situation is not helping me make a decision on whether to continue with Office live or go elsewhere.  One other area that I am concerned about is the lack of feature enhancements with the website design tools, themes available, colors etc etc.

Anyhow, if someone can let me know on this, it would be appreciated.    BTW the reason I ended up posting here is because I am having a technical issue right now.  Am unable to upload files to my documents area AND am unable to backup or make a .olp file of my site and files.  Both error out.

Microsoft will ignore your emails, they don't care about you at all.. check out my other posts.

The only way I have gotten anything done is to call Microsoft at 866 591 5483 and yell.. then stuff happens pretty fast.

Malakie, I answered your question about Support in your other post and included a link to Support.  There is also a link on the OL home page.  I have had good experiences with Support with prompt replies to my problems.  Some responses came within 4 hours.  There are some problems they can't solve, but I have never experienced being "ignored" by support.

Hi Malakie,

Can't remember where, but in OLSB somewhere there was a technicial e-mail address, i had a problem that i couldn't even get into the design website pages, but they answered and dealt with my query quite promptly.

Found it, at the bottom of the OLSB page is the "support" tag, click that and it gives you an online form.

Hope this helps.

Hello Malakie:

The free service is what I use on both my domains I have hosted on office live and i have found that there is nothing the upgrade (paid) service can do that I can't allready do. As far as support your best option (and free) is this office live small business community. I will offer a solution for your olp issue. (never worked here eighter on my one site) in page manager (under site actions) I activated advanced design functions and then use the save as template feature to backup my existing pages. for your document issue what is the file type and size of the file that you are trying to upload?

I also have the free service and the help I received from the OL support team has been excellent. I have received email support within hours and they even called me on the phone. When I had a problem I didn't want to wait for an answer I called them on the number they gave and I got right through with no waiting to a technical support person.

At this moment in time they have been responsive and great.

I agree... I have OLB Beta, couldn't get any more free than that... I have had excellend support... even when I thought they were wrong and found out it was "operator error"... they were gracious. I have signed up several of my friends to OLB and will continue to do so.
