I'm wondering whether there's any point posting anything at this site.. I submitted two posts 6 weeks ago and no responses yet. Is this the norm? Anyone having the same/different experience?

All depends. I find newly created thread post gets a response more often then a post reply especially when the initial post was created weeks or months ago.
I have a habit of hitting the recent discussion tab so I often miss other posts that were submitted previously.
