The mailbox cannot be created at this time; please try again later.

I get this message whenever I try to create a mailbox with my current domain.

After I enter email address, name and details and press Next, it takes me to this screen that says "The mailbox cannot be created at this time; please try again later." I've tried it hundreds of time with no success. Please help!

You really haven't provided enough information to nail this one down.  One cause of this is logging in with the wrong account ID.  You need to be logged in as the owner of the account.  Have you tried different email address, or only one address hundreds of times?

It would also be helpful if we knew the name of your domain/e-mail address you are trying to create.

I'm logging in with the only account ID I have created for office live. I am logged in as the owner.

Yes, I have tried many different addresses like: info, webmaster, sales etc... no one works.

It seems like an internal problem of office live because otherwise the resulting message would be more accurate  to describe what I'm doing wrong like "you're not logged in as the owner" for instance.

Please help!!

Good morning.  The error messages in Office Live tend to be notoriously vague, probably a symptom of a young product.  I see the registered address for the site is Valparaiso, Chile.  This could be a complicating factor.  I think you need to contact OL support at this point and get their help.  Before you do, I would suggest performing a "general exorcism:"  Go to Tools > Internet Options and delete your history, temporary internet files and cookies.  If there is a box for "offline content," check it.  Then open a fresh browser, log into OL and try one more time.  If there is still no success, contact Support and be sure to tell them all the things you have done.  Otherwise, they will tell you to "delete history, etc."  Good luck.

Re: The mailbox cannot be created at this time; please try again later.

I, too, am having this exact same problem and it's driving me nuts.  I have been in contact with MS via email for the better part of the past week and they have concluded that it is a problem on their end; they have escalated the issue but I haven't heard anything yet.  I initially bought my domain through MSOL a couple of years ago but never did anything with it.  The domain and account lapsed and expired so I renewed the domain through GoDaddy (after releasing the domain from Melbourne IT).  Now I have my name servers pointing to NS1 & NS2.officelive.com and the website works just fine (www.newsolutionsny.com).  I even tried purchasing the premium email service but that didn't work, in fact I still have that error message at the top of my MSOL home screen that says "some parts of this account are not fully activated..." which has persisted for about 4 days.  Anyone have any input?
