e-commerce

hi everybody.

I would like to know if the website we can create for free with office live is just to let people know about our business or if we are able to sell items as well.

Thank you.

Cat.

Re: e-commerce

You can do both. It's a fully functioning website . For ecommerce, you can start with using Paypal as your shopping cart/payment processor (free), or try the Store Manager add-on for Office Live.

Yes it costs extra, and the Store Manager has a ways to go, but one of the nice things is that in one click, if you have an eBay account and obviously link them ahead of time, you can have your Items on eBay as well. The Store Manager does virtually everything, once it is set up. The cost depends upon your promotion, but costs normally around $40 ($39.95 plus applicable taxes) each month to add this feature.  Yet like royster says, you can always with your free account, just have a PayPal button.  PayPal supplies the code and you simply use the HTML module in site designer.  It’s easy! In fact just to show you I will create a PayPal page on my site so you can see an example.  Obviously I will improve this page from here, but you get the idea. I did this in simply just a few minutes, in between writing this comment. For me I use Store Manger to test the functionality for future clients, and for my purposes it’s fine. For you however, you might just want to create a customized PayPal button, and stick with that for a while. I wish you success in whatever you choose, and be sure to let us know how you do. We look forward to see what you do with yours too Nicholas. Maybe you can even post some Links.

You can also use Mal's e-commerce if you have some knowledge of HTML coding. It will allow you to do about anything you want and is free.

Re: e-commerce

The best advise I can give you is to start out using one of the e-commerce solutions that doesn't charge a monthly fee. There are very few fresh (new) websites that will have a volume of online traffic/sales that would cover the cost of using a paid e-commerce solution let alone make a profit and to use a pay-per-click solution to correct this only makes it worse, just look around at the e-commerce solutions successful websites using office live small business are using.

Re: e-commerce

for digital files, both paypal and payloadz will be necessary, but it really takes little time to get an online store up and running
