Contact Manager Alert

I have setup an alert with our info@ email address in the Contact Manger.  The Contact Us page on our site does NOT use the standard Contact Us form.  It uses a form created from the form designer and contact manager.  The site is active and contacts are being added to the contact manager, but NO alert is being generated.  We have tried to delete and re-add the alert (of which we do get notification of the new alert), but we get NO notications to the email account setup in the alert of any type of contact manager information.  Why could that be?
