I have been building my wife's website since June and believe I am ready for a constructive review.  All comments would be appreciated.

Well done!  The only thing i noticed that under your store picture you have saturdays  time, at first i thought that was the only day open til i read down the page.     But nice.     just opened my web site   www.jbsfamilystore.com

It looks great. Here are some thing I noticed:
You have "Closed Sunday" but you don't have the store hours for the rest of the week. I have to go to a whole other page to view them. I would either get rid of the Sunday comment or put the hours on the main page and use the other strictly as a contact us.

"About" It needs to say and the monitor stuck. |

Have you though about Lightbox?

The favicon only works for the main page.

The site is very informative and not a lot of clutter  ao that is good but your header doesn't quite line up with the body.. the 3 larger photos of the toys look really similar so i might only use one and make it bigger. I am guessing you don't sell online but you might want to state that somewhere.

I didn't realize the day (which I change every day) would be confusing.  I will be eliminating it in the next day or two.
I orginally wanted the pictures to "lead" people to the differnt sections but I now see how they could be causing various issues.

The site has lots of nice touches and I’d bet it has a lot of appeal for all the bird lovers out there. I have a few suggestions that might add a little polish.

First would be on your Home page, since your name is so prominent in the header, I think you could delete it from the top of the page and promote what it is you actually offer – the exotic birds, boarding and clipping, etc. It’s great to see your location and phone in a good spot; amazing how many sites don’t do that.

Next I would find a good proofreader to go over the site for you. I saw a lot of little typos and spelling errors. For instance, in this sentence on your Home page, I’m thinking there are at least a couple of words missing:  "Cages of all sizes including those for parakeets up large cages for the Macaws.  I will assist you in making the best choice meet the needs of your bird AND your home." A couple of lines down from that you have Luther “wannts” instead of “wants.” Those kinds of errors make your site seem unprofessional and are easy to clean up.

Another suggestion would be to rethink how you’ve set up your About the Birdlady page. The text starts out in third person and then moves into first person at the bottom. I think I would make the page one way or the other … or pull out the statement from Mel in a box so it is more obvious what’s going on.

This week-end I will proof-read each page.  I agree 100% that any typos detracts from the professionalism of a site.  I repeated the name only to give balance to the address etc but I understand the redundancy detracts from the message as well as uses space.
