I've recently handed over the inputting of new list items to the man I built the site for (bobfreedmanarranger.com.) I use a Windows machine...he uses a Mac. He couldn't figure out how to make some text bold in the one field I told him he can do that in, so I sent him an image of the screen and explained to him in a way that probably sounded like a kindergarten teacher..."OK, select the text you want bold and click on the little "B" right above the editing box." He sent me an image from HIS screen...NO RIBBON SHOWS UP ABOVE THE EDIT BOX!" He tried both Safari and Firefox. I've now gone to my husbands' Mac and tried it myself...NO RIBBON! I am still on the Mac writing this post and THERE IS A RIBBON HERE!
Do I need to do anything special to allow Safari / Firefox users access to the formatting toolbar that I take for granted under IE?
Is there any justification at all for the Mac faithful to continue believing their platform is superior?! (Sorry - I don't mean to offend anyone...especially if you can help me. I had the very first Apple Lisa - predecessor to the Mac for all you youngsters - in the city of Boston was on my desk, alongside my dual-floppy PC. It was great for lots of things the PC hadn't learned to do yet.) I spent more time trying to figure out how to make my app look the same on Safari and Firefox as it did on IE7 than I spent building the app to begin with!
Thanks...and sorry again for the venting!
