How do I Edit an Already Published Form Without Losing Data Already Collected

Hi,

I've created a customized form which asks visitors for their comments. Their responses are published on a separate web page as a list. I've noticed, though, that I have some spelling mistakes on one of my drop-down lists. How can I correct this without having to start again and possibly lose all the comments already submitted? I can't find an Edit option anywhere in the Form/List application. Thanks for your help.

In the custom form, go to Settings, List Settings, which should brink up a list of the columns in the list, simply click on and it should allow you to change it.

Hi!

Thanks for the quick response. I went into custom list settings and it does allow me to make the change. I also created a new view and made that the default, but the changes are still not appearing on the website. Do I need to replublish the form, and if so will it keep the list data as it is?

Thanks so much.

Yes, you will need to reload the XML metadata. So go to your web page, click into properties for the list, and inApplications, select soemthing elseother than the one where your list is at (this step is highly necessary). Then reselect the application and the list you want to publish. Save it and you should see the changes.

Thank you both!

It was totally not obvious how to do this. Especially the resave by reselecting the application. I can now see my changes on the site. You guys rock!
