My computer life began in graduate school where I took courses in Fortran and COBOL and ran them on an IBM 360. That should reveal my age. I had a feeling that computer stuff would be useful some day. I bought the first IBM PC sold at the new Lynwood, WA Computerland store. It had 2 x 160k diskette drives and 64k of memory. That was the upgraded memory and I was set for life. Remember DOS, Wordstar and Visicalc? I taught myself BASIC and Microsoft QuickBASIC was a good friend. You could use a mouse, but why would you? Microsoft was in a green and white office building in Bellevue then. Post-Windows, I discovered Access. It could well be Microsoft’s greatest achievement. I am still amazed by what I have been able to do with it. Now, a web site? That was certainly out of the question. Then along came Office Live….
